Holding his law degree from the University of Toronto, Stuart Bollefer has been practicing law for more than 30 years and specializes in tax-related issues as a partner with Aird & Berlis LLP in Toronto, Ontario. Recognized for his knowledge of tax-related topics, he sits on the firm’s Tax Group and also serves as chair of its Tax and Succession Planning Group. In addition to his extensive experience as a tax attorney, Stuart Bollefer has also shared his expertise by co-authoring a book with David Malach titled, “The Business in Transition: Making the Succession Plan Work," a work that tackles the complex world of business succession and the inherent tax implications that come with it.

Not just an expert in domestic tax law, Stuart Bollefer is well-versed in international tax issues, particularly as they relate to the trade relationship between Canada and the United States. He has recently attended a number of conferences on the topic, such as the Conference on U.S. Tax Reform and a seminar titled, “The Multilateral Instrument and Canada's Tax Treaties,” sponsored by the International Fiscal Association.
