Stuart Patterson

I am currently a student at the New York Institute of Photography. I have been interested in the art of photography since I first picked up a 35mm Pentax Spotmatic at the age of 13. Since then I have worked as a film developer/processor, outdoor writer and photographer for Florida Fly Fishing Magazine. I am an outdoorsman at heart and I want my photography to show others the beauty I see on the water and in the woods. To afford my photography, I spend most of my days working as a Software Engineer or, as I like to say, a Bit Artists. I organize 1′s and 0′s into interesting patterns that in turn yield amazing software when executed. On the weekends, I grab my camera and flyrod and hit the water to catch and release some of the most incredible saltwater predators – shark, barracuda, pompano, jacks, ladyfish, seatrout and snook. Life is good when the sun is on your back and you are stalking a bonefish in the shallows. Life is better when you have THE photo showing the fish in its natural habitat in a way few have ever seen. My New Years Resolution in 2012 was to renew my passion for photography and to get formal training in the subject. After much research I decided on the Professional Photography program at NYIP.
