I am the author of numerous bibliographies, handbooks and manuals for family and local historians. I trained as a historian at Keele and Adelaide Universities, and as a librarian at the College of Librarianship Wales. After many years working in academic libraries, I commenced writing bibliographies for family historians in 1988. Since then, in addition to my series of county bibliographies and web directories, I have published handbooks on topics such as parish registers, the census, apprentices, and twentieth century research. My 2012 titles include My ancestor was a gentleman (Sociewty of Genealogists), the Home Front 1939-45 (Family History Partnership), and The Wills of our Ancestors (Pen & Sword).
