Cambridgeshire

I split my time between writing about and teaching biology.

I was a lab scientist for many years but switched to science communication after working with my wonderful father, the late Tom McGrath, on Safe Delivery – an award-winning play about gene therapy. Since then I have acquired a few useful skills including translating research papers to English, organising events and walking on custard.

I live in a backwater village in Cambridgeshire with my husband, son and a small flock of chickens.
