Bodybuilding is my passion. I entered the Mr Cork Bodybuilding Championship in May 2013 at the age of 49 and again in 2016 at 52 and won the Masters category both years. This was a brutal journey of self discovery for me. I have learned a lot about how my body reacts to nutrition and training allowing me to reach a body fat level of 3.5% for the competition.
I would encourage anyone who is in the slightest bit interested in bodybuilding to enter a show. Even if I hadn’t won my category the experience was phenomenal. Reaching competition level of fitness and condition was by far the most energizing and character defining thing I have ever done.
