Dr. Sturla Bruun-Meyer

Possessing a diversity of psychiatric training, Dr. Sturla Bruun-Meyer began preparing for his career as a student at Witwatersrand University in Johannesburg, South Africa, where he received the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degrees, equivalent to the North American MD. During this time, he also served as a district surgeon with the Department of Health in Johannesburg. After completing his studies there, he went on to become a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada. Later, Dr. Sturla Bruun-Meyer earned placement in the ranks of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in London, England.

Dr. Bruun-Meyer utilized his medical and psychiatric training as an assistant professor with the University of Toronto, where he previously served as a lecturer. Working in coordination with The Wellesley Hospital and the University of Toronto, he instructed and guided undergraduate and graduate students with regard to general psychiatry. Furthermore, he has served on several University of Toronto Department of Psychiatry and The Wellesley Hospital committees, including educational, health records, budget and executive committees.
