Hello, I'm Suara Adediran, and my life’s work has been dedicated to chemistry and education. I was born in Oyo State, Nigeria, where my curiosity about the world around me sparked an interest in science early on. This curiosity led me to pursue a Bachelor’s and later a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Ibadan. My journey has taken me from classrooms in Nigeria to research labs in Canada and the United States, with a focus on teaching, research, and mentorship.

For 20 years, I taught at the University of Ilorin, where I also served as the Head of the Chemistry Department. It was a deeply fulfilling time, shaping young minds and guiding them toward careers in science. In 1999, I moved to Middletown, Connecticut, where I joined Wesleyan University as a Senior Research Fellow and Visiting Professor, continuing my work in research and education.

Throughout my career, I’ve authored 55 research papers and been honored to become a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry. But what I’m most proud of is the mentoring I've done. Seeing students grow, succeed, and carry forward their own curiosity is a reward beyond any accolade. Outside of academia, I enjoy chess, puzzles, and spending time with my family. For me, life is about staying curious, asking the right questions, and always looking for new ways to learn and share knowledge.
