BACKGROUND

I was with the University of South Wales (formerly the University of Glamorgan) for 16 years, running the editorial team supporting online academic delivery of educational courses and resources.

I led a small, specialist team, which provided the University's academics with consultancy services, and gave direct support for technology-enhanced learning and digital publishing via targeted user-focused websites for staff, students and the general public..

Alongside my e-learning responsibilities, I managed 'South Wales on iTunes U' and was the editorial lead on the University's moves into eBook/iBook publishing, OER and MOOCs.

I have served on a number of external committees, including the National Digital Learning Council, the Welsh Language, Technology and Digital Media Group, the Colegau Cenedlaethol iTunes U Project Board, and the POERUP International Advisory Committee.

Prior to USW, my career encompassed many years as a sub-editor with The Western Mail and as a editor and freelancer, running publishing projects for major education bodies including HEFCW, WJEC and ACCAC, as well as commercial clients such as David Morgan department store.
