Suha Atiyeh is an accomplished civil engineer with an impressive track record in both the private and public sectors. As a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the US and a Chartered Civil Engineer (CEng MICE) in the UK, she has played a vital role in shaping high-profile infrastructure projects across multiple regions.
Her career began in the private sector, where she worked with some of the world’s top 500 engineering consulting firms. She later transitioned to the public sector, where she has been instrumental in executing complex, multi-million-dollar infrastructure programs. With exceptional project and program management skills, Suha has successfully led numerous multi-disciplinary capital improvement projects, ensuring efficiency and innovation in their execution.
Suha’s expertise spans a wide range of engineering disciplines, including stormwater management, transportation, land development, and sustainable infrastructure. She has been a driving force behind landmark projects such as the design and implementation of green infrastructure in Washington DC, enhancements along Wheeler Road, and MLK Jr. Avenue, as well as critical infrastructure development in Kenilworth Courts.
Internationally, her impact has been equally significant. She has led major projects in the UAE, such as Masdar City’s sitewide infrastructure, stormwater flood mitigation measures, and drinking water management frameworks.
Beyond her technical expertise, Suha is a recognized advocate for sustainability. Holding prestigious certifications such as LEED AP, Envision Sustainability Professional, and Estidama Pearl Qualified Professional, she has pioneered the integration of sustainable engineering solutions that reduce carbon footprints while enhancing cost-efficiency.
Suha is currently the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) Representative for the US Mid-Atlantic South Region, where she continues to contribute to the advancement of the global engineering community.
She earned her Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Clemson University in South Carolina, solidifying her foundation in engineering excellence.
