Sukumar Nagendran

DR. Sukumar Nagendran serves as vice president and head of medical affairs for Quest Diagnostics in New Jersey; in this role, Sukumar Nagendran oversees the company’s diagnostic information services and streamlines internal medical processes and operations.
After moving to the U.S. in the late 1980s, Dr. Sukumar Nagendran completed an undergraduate degree in biochemistry at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey; and a doctor of medicine at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. At the latter school, he received outstanding achievement awards for proficiency in psychiatry, radiology, internal medicine and the Robert Wood Johnson Alumni Award for Outstanding Medical Student. Dr. Nagendran went on to perform a multi-year residency in internal medicine at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota before relocating to Arizona to provide diabetes and cardiovascular disease in- and out-patient care to patients in a private practice setting.
In the years since, Dr. Sukumar Nagendran served on staff at several major hospitals, including Banner Thunderbird Samaritan, Paradise Valley Hospital, Boswell and Dal Webb medical centers in Phoenix, Arizona. Since the 2000s, he has also worked as team leader and head for multiple drug manufacturers such as Pfizer, Novartis and Daiichi Sankyo in the medical affairs and clinical development organization.
