Sulmaan Azmat

I was born and raised in Winnipeg Manitoba. I grew up playing street hockey, watching movies and listening to music. All of these interests trickeled down from my two older brothers. I moved to Ontario in August 2009 as I knew this is where opportunities sprout from, and finished my degree. This was also my family's master plan, as we all now reside in Oakville. Having done a year and a half of school at University of Manitoba, I quickly realized I had more thinking to do about my future. This is when I decided to go to China to teach English.

Between moving to Ontario I had the opportunity to move to China and teach English for 5 months. Having done this at the age of 21, this really opened my eyes to the entire world, but also the person I was about to become. The experience gave me confidence and real life experience in which I had to rely on myself rather than my family or friends. In the end, it gave me direction on life and what I wanted from it.

I love to travel and experience cultures and history. You learn a great deal looking into the past, and realizing that we are all one but have had different journeys as people. I have travelled to Paris, London, New York, Hong Kong, Barcelona to name a few and hope the list increases as I get older.

The entertainment business has been something that I have always been attached to from a very young age as I previously mentioned. Being able to escape reality through movies or invoke emotions through music is a very big part of me. I spend much of my leisure time watching all types of movies (you name it, I've probably seen it). I also really enjoy keeping ontop of the music scene, in particular the hip-hop/R&B genres through purchasing albums or even attending many concerts of my favourite artists.

I fell in love with the Marketing Industry while residing in Toronto. The creativity, and the engagement of consumers is truly the most fascinating part to see as different methods can capture peoples attention. The communication of concepts and ideas that signify a brand in order to increase a company's brand is a skill I want to master.

I hope this gives you a snap shot of who I am, and what I want out of life. I love meeting new people, and hope you are one of them!
