Sultri derived its name from the word sultry meaning "passion, sensuality and seduction; marked by intensity or enthusiasm." When this dynamic duo came together, their passion and enthusiasm for soul music was undeniable. They have applied their melodic sound across multiple genres of music including R&B, neo-soul, jazz, old school, funk, and go-go.

Sultri has been gigging in the DC, MD and VA area for nearly two years and has appeared at a number of public and private venues. Sultri members include Erica Scott (contralto) and Tia Blount (tenor).
