I was born in 1973 in West Bengal of India. After completing First-Middle-After education, Calcutta University, Faculty of Economics, I got enrolled in the diploma course in photography with a Zenith camera I borrowed from my friend in 1997 just out of curiocity. At there the darkroom and photography experience that I had from my teachers mesmerised my sences. Became part of my life for a long time. After the completion of the diploma I had to shelf my camera for earning my bread but photography never left me. After a certain maturity, I again began to take photography seriously. I started teaching in 2001 and am continuing till date. I entered the first international competition recognised by FIAP in 2011. I have attended numerous photo competetions and received several awards in national and international competitions. I used to take great pleasure shooting people oriented docu-photo, love the way nature creates and recreates its inhabitants & also bitten by the experimental (creative editing) bug. In 2013 I became the secretary of HPS FOTOCLUB which organised the FIAP & PSA recognised photographic circuit named VIBGYOR CIRCUIT. At the same time in 2015, I achieved the AFIAP title from Federation del art photographique. Recently I bagged the 1st prize from "RICE & SMILE" CONTEST which was organised by http://www.deltaphotocontest.eu.

I started my photographic career with a borrowed zenith then from Nikon FM10 to Nikon D70s to Nikon 3100 and finally settled to Nikon D750. My best possessions are a tokina 11-16 2.8 mm lens, Nikon 70-300 4.5-5.6, Nikon 24-120 2.8 mm and the very sharp tamron 90 mm. 2.8. I like to shoot different genres of photography. I will attribute my success to my friends, my family and my kinsmen who never get tired posing for me. keeping my busy schedule in mind I travel whenever I had a chance to shoot urban areas of India's vaious cities and villgaes as I was grossly influenced by the works of bengali art film directors of the 70's. To me the passive recording of life is the only interesting thing being a photographer. But unlike vivian meyer I put my works to the jury's to get a fair apprisal. The camera is now for me, with which I express myself, shaping my life in an indispensable passion.
