Strategy & Operations in New York
US-born Japanese-Indian, living in the UK and Switzerland for over 14 years and traveling to 28 countries - that’s the ethnic puzzle I grew up in. My name is Sumito Ahuja, and I’ve had the privilege of navigating life from multiple cultural vantage points. My father grew up in New Delhi, and my mother immigrated to the US from Tokyo. Together, they instilled in me the value of diversity, not just in identity, but in experiences, in perspectives, and in passions. And I carry that with me in everything I do—from my love of food to my work with the AAPI community.
I grew up in a home where technology and creativity were always in dialogue. My father earned his PhD in AI back in the ‘80s, long before it was the buzzword it is today. My mother, a graphic designer, had a passion for blending artistry with function. So it’s no surprise that I chose to study engineering at the University of Pennsylvania, a discipline where quantitative logic meets design. After building practical experience I pursued master’s degrees from NYU's Stern School of Business and Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
For over 15 years, I’ve worked across sectors—tech, finance, healthcare, retail—helping Fortune 500 companies and startups scale, innovate, and find growth in challenges. One of my proudest moments? Leading a team at Twitter as we reimagined an ad tech stack, all while ensuring GDPR compliance during the uncertainty of a global pandemic. More recently, I led the transformation of Fandom’s acquisitions of Metacritic, Cordcutters and GameSpot, as well as owned commercial due diligence for TvScientific's B-Raise. Currently I'm leading VidMob's AI GTM sales enablement transformation as the Global Head of Revenue Operations, built my own mobile app called Crowngard, and received AI certifications from IBM and AWS.
But my professional achievements aren’t the whole story. Outside of work, I’ve built a blog called Baked Design that grew to over 10,000 organic followers in just six months, I’ve self-published a children’s book for my six-year-old daughter—a project that’s close to my heart, and recently launched Crowngard (the first global mobile app registry for lost and stolen watches).
I’m passionate about many things: I love to dance, I have an appreciation for haute horology, and I’m an avid fan of horror and dystopian sci-fi—think Blade Runner and Altered Carbon. I even dabble in competitive esports, ranking in the top 10% globally for Overwatch and Mobile Legends. But at the end of the day, the most important roles I play are that of a husband and a father. My wife, my daughter, and my family across the globe ground me in everything I do.
