Summer Lubart
Summer Lubart is currently a senior at the University of Florida, where she is studying political science, communication studies, nonprofit organizations, and public leadership. An exceptional student, Ms. Lubart has earned a place on the dean's list each semester, and she garnered additional distinction by becoming an Anderson Scholar in 2010, beating out nearly 2,400 of her classmates in doing so.
In other accomplishments, she won the overall talent competition and was named third runner-up in the Miss University of Florida Pageant 2011. Summer Lubart has demonstrated her interest in and aptitude for politics in a number of ways. Most recently, in the summer of 2011, she served as an intern for Congressman Cliff Stearns in Washington, D.C. In this role, Ms. Lubart replied to constituents' various concerns and oversaw the Congressional Grant Referral Program for the 6th Congressional District of Florida. She also became involved in politics at the University of Florida soon after enrolling there, initially serving as Student Government Senator from 2008 to 2010.
Ms. Lubart additionally held the role of Student Senate Vice-Chairwoman and later Student Senate Chairwoman, positions in which she collaborated with her peers and served on the Rules & Ethics Committee. Aside from her activities in the political sphere, Summer Lubart has gained considerable familiarity with the legal system. Ms. Lubart served as the Lead Student Lawyer for Palm Beach County Youth Court while still in high school, and she also completed an internship with the law firm McHale & Slavin P.A., where she assisted paralegals with their document preparation. In her leisure time, Summer Lubart takes pleasure in singing and practicing taekwondo, in which she holds a first-degree black belt. A socially conscious individual, she formed Summer's Mission, a petition to encourage individuals to refrain from texting while driving.
