Summer VonHolten

Hi, I’m Summer VonHolten, and I’m an oil painter from Tomball, Texas. Growing up surrounded by the Texas countryside, I’ve always felt a deep connection to nature, and that really shows up in my art. I love capturing the beauty and emotion of the landscapes and wildlife around me, whether it’s through vibrant colors or textured brushstrokes that give the painting life. My work is all about bringing out the emotional depth of a scene, not just how it looks, but how it feels.

I’ve been painting for as long as I can remember, but I really honed my craft at the University of Houston, where I studied Fine Arts. Over the years, I’ve learned to embrace the imperfections in my work, realizing that those unexpected moments or brushstrokes are often what make a piece stand out. I try to create art that resonates with people on a deeper level, art that feels alive.

Aside from painting, I’m passionate about helping others find their creative voice. I offer workshops and mentorship to aspiring artists, and it’s incredibly rewarding to watch people discover their own style. I always encourage experimentation and letting go of the need to be perfect—art, like life, is messy, and that’s where the magic happens! For me, it’s all about staying connected to nature, allowing creativity to flow naturally, and enjoying the process.
