Summer Wheaton
Torrance, CA
As a former athlete and dancer, Summer has learned firsthand how sports can help a young girl discover her natural abilities and develop a strong sense of self. But having gone through a number of life-altering events, she also understands that individuals and society continue to affect and influence self-esteem throughout a young girl's progression into adulthood. It is with this understanding and her passion for inspiring young girls that Summer decided to bring the idea of Project Love Me to fruition.
Before entering the world of nonprofit management, Summer worked in the fields of Sports Marketing and Professional Services Marketing. She has a broad range of experience in event management, business development, social media, proposal management and media relations.
Summer holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing from Cal State Northridge. In May 2011, she earned a Master of Arts degree in Sport Management from the University of San Francisco. She is a member of Cedars-Sinai Sports Spectacular Steering Committee and a continues to volunteer with many non-profits to assist her community.
