Summit Christian Center

Located in San Antonio, Texas, the Summit Christian Center provides members of all backgrounds with a place to personally connect with God and their community. Founded by Pastors Rick and Cindy Godwin, a husband and wife team, Summit Christian Center holds church services on Saturdays at 5:00 p.m. and Sundays at both 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. At these services, Pastor Rick Godwin communicates a message of hope through heart-felt worship and spirit-led prayer. Additionally, Godwin teaches his congregation about the sanctity and glorification of Jesus Christ, as well as the conviction that the Bible serves as the inspired word of God. Pastor Godwin also encourages church members at Summit Christian Center to use the services as a way to meet and connect with each other, in order to celebrate and spread the teachings of God.

Outside of worship services, Summit Christian Center offers its members a wide variety of ministries with specific focuses. These ministries include Divorce Care, a group devoted helping adults overcome the pain of separation and divorce, as well as its children's affiliate, Divorce Care for Kids. Summit Christian Center also offers Freedom of Christ, a group devoted to resolving personal and spiritual conflicts; Elevate, a group for children in second through fifth grade that teaches God's words via games, worship, and age-appropriate lessons; and Emerge, a similar program for pre-teens and teens in the sixth through twelfth grades. The Center also created the Kings Compassion ministry, which serves residents of the San Antonio community who are poor, needy, homeless, or elderly as well as those grieving the loss of a loved one. Summit Christian Center celebrates a number of events, such as baptisms, baby dedication services, brunches, and tea times. During summertime, Summit Christian Center provides several programs and events for children and young adults, including Rush, a summer camp held in Oklahoma City, and PandaMania, a vacation Bible school.
