Summit Series Malibu

Malibu, CA

Founded in 2008, Summit Series of Malibu, California, plans and oversees annual and year-round leadership and entrepreneurship conferences and events worldwide. Designed to give voice and inspiration to the next generation of business leaders, artists, philanthropists, technologists, and other professionals, Summit Series’ events encourage networking and collaboration with a goal of generating new business ideas and tackling global issues. The organization started off as a three-day retreat for 19 entrepreneurs at a Utah ski resort. One year later, the Obama administration asked members of the enterprise to curate a meeting between White House officials and young professionals.

Since then, Summit Series experienced rapid growth. In 2010, more than 750 people attended the organization’s three-day annual conference in Washington, D.C., where President Bill Clinton and John Legend, among other leaders, spoke. In 2011, the enterprise moved into its current Malibu headquarters and organized the successful Summit at Sea conference, in which 1,000 young leaders took a chartered cruise from Miami to a three-day conference in the Bahamas, where the speakers included Richard Branson and PayPal cofounder Peter Thiel. In 2012, Summit Series held its annual conference at the Squaw Valley ski resort in California. With more than 650 entrepreneurs and professionals from the business, science, nonprofit, and technology worlds, this event again served as a major triumph for the organization.
