Intel VP and Entrepreneur in Saratoga, California
I am Vice President of the Silicon Engineering Group at Intel and a serial entrepreneur.
My career started at Intel in the late 1980s as a chip designer on the Intel 286. After four years, I left to join Sun Microsystems where I spent 12 years and moved into management. I remember thinking, "Here I am sitting in Silicon Valley and I’ve never done a startup. It's like living on the beach and not going in the water."
I took the plunge and went on to launch two successful tech companies. My first startup was Prism Circuits, which created serial memory products. Prism grew to 50 people with $11 million in revenue and was acquired by Mosys in 2009. In 2011, I founded NetSpeed Systems, a system-on-a-chip design tool company. Raising over $13M from investors, I grew the company to profitability with an impressive list of Fortune 100 customers. I sold NetSpeed to Intel in 2018.
In 2017, I received the Distinguished Alumni Award from the College of Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. For several years, I have been mentoring young people from the university where I got my MSEE. I continue to focus on helping others, particularly women, to be successful in starting and growing tech companies.
