Your Health Goals Are Making You More Stressed!

People are more stressed for longer periods of time than ever before in history!

There’s a big lie going around about improving health, fitness and well being. It goes a little bit like this:

“If you make a few changes to your diet, get to bed on time and take some exercise then you’ll start to get the results that you’re after”

There’s a problem with this though. The changes that you’re told to make, that are all over the internet and social media are a one size fits all solutions. They are most probably going to cause you more stress than good health in the transition. Even in the long term quite possibly.

What do I mean?

Well, have you ever felt compelled to do something because you ‘thought’ it was right, but, it didn’t ‘feel’ right?

You thought and thought about changing. You rationalist that the solution you came up with was right for you and then jumped in and made changes. It probably felt like you were living someone else’s life for a while. It may have actually increased your stress levels, the very thing you wanted to improve!

When it comes to making changes that improve health and well being and therefore your fitness, you need to get very clear on your root values before doing so.

Once you have your root values, you know what ‘you’ need to feel just right in your own skin. From there you can begin to make small steps in the direction. Doing so will feel just right for you and therefore reduce your stress hugely, long term.

Top Tip

Take 10 minutes to think about your root value, time. How much time do you need to unwind at the end of the day before you feel relaxed? How long do you ideally need to eat and digest your meals? Do you feel stressed because you’re always late and therefore need to start adding 10Mins to travel times? How much exercise do you need in a week?

Brain storm as many of these time related issues as you can and use the above questions as a prompt. Make sure you don’t B.S yourself on this. If you do this from your head you’ll get this wrong. What ‘feels’ right will be right, for you!
