Suneth Namal

Suneth Namal completed his bachelor of science in Computer Engineering from University of Peradeniya in 2007. Then he joined Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT) as IP/MPLS Network Operation Engineer I. In 2008 Namal was offered a scholarship by the Government of Finland to continue his Master of Engineering in the field of "Information and Communication Technologies" at Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand. Due to outstanding performance in his field, he was selected for a Dual degree Master's program with a full scholarship by Telecom SudParis, France. Then he joined the "Services Multimedia Mobiles research group" at institute de Télécom, TSP. Namal completed his masters degrees in 2010 and he joined "Centre for Wireless Communication (CWC)", Finland. He started his PhD in the field of Network security and telecommunication in 2010 attached to university of Oulu, Finland. He was a research scientist at CWC for more than two years and then promoted as a Project manager in one of the International project (SDN Concept in Generalized Mobile Network Architectures-/Celtic-plus) led by Nokia, Finland. He involved in setting up the project proposal and preparation on behalf of University of Peradeniya. He took the responsibilities of project coordination and financial management of the project over more than one and half years. Namal completed his PhD in Dec 2014 with more than 15 internal publications. In 2015, Dr. Namal joined the department of Computer Engineering, University of Peradeniya as a Senior lecturer.
