Sunil Subramanya, born in 1986 in a place called Naibhi near Sringeri, was drawn to the art of percussion as a child. He hails from a family with deep roots in music, particularly in the Bhajana Sampradaya. He started his initial training at the age of 10. under his father Sri subramanya and Sri Sringeri Ramachandra Rao. He gave his debut performance at the age of 16 and came under the tutelage of Mridangam Maestro Vidwan Arjun Kumar, who represents two famous style of Mridangam playing, Pudukkottai and Tanjore style. He has been giving concerts at esteemed sabhas and music festivals all over india. He has been training many students in India and abroad . He is conducting mridangam classes in Bangalore and in Belgaum also, and has many promising students, some are performing in concerts.Sunil is an ‘A grade' artist of AIR Bangalore and has also passed the Senior examination with distinction. With a conventional training background in the Vedas, He has completed his Masters Degree in English.
