Dance is a journey from visible to invisible

- Sunitta Menghanaani

When dance has become an extension of lives, which way you choose to live?

Has dance chosen her or she has chosen dance?

The question lingers on....

Sunitta Menghanaani, a budding yet profound Bharatanatyam artiste and teacher, hails from Pune, but has made her karmabhumi - Chennai. She began her journey into dance at the tender age of 3 under Smt Geeta Nair. The urge to follow her passion, brought her down South and she graduated in Bharatanatyam from Kalakshetra Foundation, Rukmini Devi College of Fine Arts, Chennai. She holds Bachelor in Commerce from Pune University and has completed her Masters in Fine Arts from Kalai Kaveri College of Fine Arts, Trichy. She is continuing her passion for teaching and performing under the tutelage of Shri Sheejith Krishna, Director, Sahrdaya Foundation. Currently she is pursuing Ph.D in Dance from Annamalai University, Chidambaram.

Sunitta Menghanaani being the director of Shanti Kala Nikketan, aims to bring out the hidden passion and hard work of each individual and make them not only a creative artist but a human being with a vision of love and compassion.

Apart from dance, Sunitta is a passionate model and theatre artist. She has collaborated with Theatre Nisha, Just Us Repertory, Athreya and many more. She made her debut in acting through a short film 'Chahat ke Gubbare' which has won the Best Short Film Award in Kolkata International Film Festival 2017.
