Sunny Childs

Simply sassy and southern! That's me in a nutshell. I grew up in rural North Carolina, where cattle and crops outnumber the locals. I apprecite this rural rearing, because I learned many valuable lessons like how to shoot, cook like my grandma, work on cars like my dad and grandpa, and appreciate the simpler things in life.

I decided early on that I wanted to help people, and for me this meant becoming a physical therapist. I attended Western Carolina University, where the winters are bitterly cold, the summers are swealtering, and the weather changes every 30 minutes. For those of you thinking of attending, WCU stands for We Carry Umbrellas. Aside from the weather I loved my time at WCU, and was able to become a licensed physical therapist.

Following college, I returned home for a while. One very boring night I decided to sign up for E-Harmony. Despite my pessamism, I ended up meeting my future husband. Our first date was the day before my birthday. I intended this to be a dutch dinner with no hope for a second date. It ended up turning into a great relationship, which 4 months later turned into a engagement, and a year after that a marriage.

As few years later my husband and I decided that we had had enough of rural life, and struck out to the big city of Greenville, SC. This is our home! We love everything about Greenville from the small town in a big city feel to the restraunts to the adventures this city holds. We hope to continue to explore this great city for many more years.

It's a crazy life here at the Childs' household. Between our jobs, friends, brood of dachshunds (three to be precise), and hobbies, there never seems to be enough time in the day. It is my hope that my blog will provide myself an outlet, and provide some fun information for my readers on food and fun in the South!
