Kevin Guérin

Montreal, Quebec

I was born in France, and I grew up near Biarritz, in the Basque Country. In 2008, I moved to Seattle, Washington to go to University and learn English in the process. I didn’t really know how to speak English when I moved there, but I learned it rather quickly. I suppose when you don’t have choice and you cannot speak your mother tongue, your brain enters some kind of survival mode that makes you memorize and learn more quickly. Overall, it was the best decision I’ve taken in my life, and one of my greatest experience. However, for multiple reasons, including rising tuition fees, I did not want to stay in the US, so I moved to Montreal, Québec in 2011 to finish my degree at Concordia University. My interests include but are not limited to: philosophy, environmental issues, literature, photography, modern history, music… I have a thirst for knowledge and I spend most of my time reading to learn more about the world around us. I’m currently a member of the board of director of the Concordia Community Solidarity COOP Bookstore, a not-for-profit bookstore located in downtown Montréal.
