After more than 20 years in senior administration, operations, and project management across international corporate, construction, and regulated financial environments, Surangi Ruth Kasturirathne has recently extended her professional expertise into the evolving field of digital education and knowledge communication.

Credited under the names S. R. Kasturirathne and Ruth Kasturirathne as a writer, photojournalist, and digital content creator, her work spans narrative storytelling, visual reportage, and social media engagement, exploring culture, history and everyday life.

Throughout her corporate career, she has worked within complex project and program environments, contributing to structured governance frameworks, program coordination, and project management office (PMO) functions that supported large-scale initiatives involving multinational consultants, government stakeholders, and cross-border teams. Her work has focused on strengthening operational systems, ensuring compliance and documentation integrity, and enabling effective decision-making and problem-solving in high-pressure, complex, multi-stakeholder environments.

Complementing her operational and program leadership experience, Surangi has worked across multiple forms of content development including writing, editing, translation, and proofreading. With an academic background in journalism and digital media production, her experience extends to photojournalism, photography, and visual storytelling as an Author and feature writer, supported by practical skills in Photoshop, creative design, and graphic communication.

In recent years, Surangi founded an online EdTech academy that has evolved into a growing learning community centred on digital education technology and STEM learning. Through workshops, interactive sessions, and community initiatives, the platform supports learners seeking flexible, technology-enabled learning pathways, while also reflecting her expanding engagement with online platforms, digital content workflows, and learner-focused program coordination—adding a strong digital dimension to her established operations and program management background.

Surangi’s work reflects a multidisciplinary intersection of program governance, operational leadership, digital learning initiatives, media practice, and knowledge communication, bringing together strategic management, creative communication, and education-focused innovation within a broader commitment to knowledge sharing, collaboration, and lifelong learning.
