Everywhere I go I have this inherent need to explore every street of that destination. Thats why I always prefer to have a self-drive car or a scooty to my disposal. If for some reason I have not been able to do that, something inside me irks to go back there again and sub-consciously I mark that destination as "Not fully explored".
I have been into travel writing for the past many years and would want to continue doing that no-matter what other work I am doing. It’s amazing to re-live those magical moments while penning down the various travel experiences. And photography on the other hand is a very essential element of travelling, so by this blog or Flog, I want to share my travel experiences in the form of photo essays with you.
My work profile essentially comprises of starting a magazine from scratch, which is conceptualizing, styling and even writing for it, mostly about my travels. After working for this magazine for two years I moved to work for a publisher who did two well-known travel magazines, namely, Namaskaar and Exotica. This experience showed me the path and then there was no looking back, although my academic knowledge was only confined to management and fashion but there was something hidden, which came out and I just wanted to write.
This was when I decided to go get some formal training in Journalism and went to London, UK for a MA in International Journalism. It was a different world out there, to learn from the best of journalists from BBC and SKY News. Yes, journalism in India has graduated from a single news hour at 9 pm to several 24 hour channels, from a few known players in the print industry to a number of well known journals, newspapers and magazines, however, the way stories are pursued in the UK is a class apart.
