Sharon Vidmar McCarthy

Sharon is a dynamic public relations/communications/marketing veteran whose career has spanned nearly 30 years in the Lehigh Valley. After directing public relations and communications for such local nonprofit organizations as ArtsQuest, KidsPeace, WDIY 88.1 FM, the Allentown School District and Via, Sharon launched her own PR firm, Surge Communications, in 2011.

She specializes in developing strategic marketing plans for small business, nonprofits and individuals and executes the components to deliver success for her clients. Specializing in social media management, Sharon is skilled at optimizing these tools, ensuring that they are important components of any promotion plan. Sharon also offer crisis communications and freelance writing services.

Sharon has developed strong community, corporate and civic relationships through her volunteer service as a board member for many area nonprofits and during her tenures as community relations manager and corporate communications manager for both Rodale Inc. and the former First Union Bank.

An avid creative writer and blogger, Sharon also writes poetry and is working on her first novel.

She lives in Fountain Hill (South Bethlehem), with her significant other of 12 years, two huge furry dogs and a finicky cat.
