I am teetering along in middle age with no desire to turn back the clock or rush off with a different man. But where are the normal middle aged women? Or men come to that? I started a blog just so that I can muse on the things about middle age that I can't really chat to my family about. Strangely, teenage children don't really want to hear about my age spots or dodgy eyesight. I can't think why!

It is a bit of a shock that I AM middle aged. Admittedly the day when I keenly headed off to University (Nottingham) does seem pretty distant. But how on earth is it possible that I now have a child in her third year of University. Where on earth did the time go? And why am I not facing ageing with paranoia?

I was diagnosed with MND (ALS) at the end of November 2015 so I did wonder if that would change everything. It hasn't. Obviously I won't now live to be old but there is a lot to muse happily about all the same and I intend to do it.
