Susan Olds
I am an artist, art historian and teacher. My favorite media is collage, both mixed media and fabric. I retired from the world of art education/administration eight years ago to pursue my art.
I live with my husband David, daughter Keira, dog Hermann and eight parakeets in a rustic home on the Snoqualmie River in North Bend, Washington.
My interests include crafts, medieval art, gardening, literary fiction, Scrabble, letter writing and mail art. I am also a Whovian and lover of fantasy.
A favorite quote of mine by artist Richard Pousette-Dart is "The artist is a child who survives."
Ancestral Bird relates to my middle name as well as my great grandparents who were ornithologists. Birds feature lheavily in my art.
The creative process for me reveals the mysteries of life and feeds my soul with inspiration.
