Susan Dalgety
Edinburgh, Scotland and Saltaire, West Yorkshire
I am a senior communications and media adviser working in Scotland and Africa on a range of projects, from training women election candidates to delivering the Scotsman’s public policy conferences.
I work with some great people, from Danny Phillips and the Active Learning Centre, to David Lee, my partner in the Scotsman Conferences.
I am a trustee of the McConnell International Foundation, and spend as much time as I can working in Malawi. Govati Nyirenda, my good friend took the wonderful picture of the women selling vegetables in Nkhata Bay, during one of our many field trips.
As my husband works for Leeds City Region, we live in two beautiful places, Portobello, Edinburgh's seaside and Saltaire, a World Heritage industrial village in West Yorkshire.
My favourite pastime is sharing fish and chips with my husband and three grandchildren, Kyle, Arran and Iona. And the occasional glass of red wine with friends.
I have enjoyed a great working life - from chief press officer for Lord McConnell during most of his term as First Minister to chief writer for the Edinburgh Evening News and I was deputy leader of Edinburgh City Council in the 1990s.
I am always open to interesting new work. Just get in touch.
