An award-winning travel writer, Susan Farlow covers the world, especially the more exotic parts of it, looking for the off-beat and unusual.

A member of the Society of American Travel Writers (SATW) since 1984, she specializes in foreign destinations, food & drink, culture and cruises. She particularly enjoys travel which involves animals. She has roamed the Sahara by camel, toured the Alps by mule, and interviewed a Komodo Dragon on the Indonesian island of Komodo. So far, she has traveled to some 84 countries.

Susan has been a freelancer for over 40 years. Her articles have been published in hundreds of major newspapers and glossy magazines, including The Los Angeles Times, The Dallas Morning News, The Miami Herald, the Chicago Tribune, Travel & Leisure, House Beautiful and many more publications.

As far as she knows, she was the first person to write a book about tours of factories and industries called "MADE IN AMERICA." Also, a photographer, Susan's photos almost always accompany her written words. She is based in the U.S., in the state of Maine.
