Susan Farquhar

Susan was born and raised in North Bay, Ontario. A graduate of York University Fine Arts Program, she began working as a visual artist and professional printmaker for artists in the 1980’s. She established Atelier GF with her partner Robert Game in 1991 in downtown Toronto. AtelierGF printed fine art prints in etching, silkscreen and relief until 2014. Susan’s art practice combines a variety of printmaking techniques with drawing, collage, textured layers and paper-cuts to develop unique panels. She uses visual imagery to reflect the changing nature of Canadian identity. In Susan’s view the contrasts that arise from combining traditional and contemporary imagery suggest a knowledge that benefits us all.
