Susan Hart
Susan J. Hart is currently a full-time doctoral student at the University of Kentucky, where she also received a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education with a Reading and Writing Endorsement for kindergarten through twelfth grade students. She is a former elementary school teacher who taught in the District of Columbia Public School system. As a research assistant for Dr. Janice F. Almasi, she has assisted with various research endeavors including collecting and analyzing data related to the Kentucky Reading Project and implementation of Response to Intervention across the state of Kentucky. In addition to holding the office of secretary for the Kentucky Reading Association Bluegrass Council, she also has membership in the Golden Key International Honor Society, Pi Lambda Theta, and Phi Delta Kappa. Ms. Hart has presented papers at the 58 and 59 annual National Reading Conference. Her dissertation research is focused an on-line, interactive community of practice that seeks to better support teachers, specifically as it relates to literacy and strategy instruction.
