Susan Idama
LONDON
Hi I'm Susan Idama: Business entrepreneur, Fashion Designer,Founder & Creative Director of INRebel; London most creative African inspired clothing and accessories line. Last year we sold out our introductorycollection at several events across London and we are doing it again! Watch outfor our SS15 collection. Furthermore as I grow my business and share my successes, my goal is to inspire and empower other women especially young female entrepreneurs and women from minority backgrounds to take the brave step, challenging society and culture to follow their dreams and live a more fulfilled life. I started my entrepreneurial journey after successfully completing a 3 years business management degree and becoming the first in my family to achieve a university education. I love when people say I can’t achieve something, I always prove them wrong! I have fought to get where I am today, from a small village in Africa, seeing poverty, suffering and pain so I am not letting anyone who has no idea of what I have been through try to spoil or block my plans. I was always drawn to risk. I would come up with a crazy idea and jump right in. Furthermore, I was very self-aware and confident in dealing with people. I knew when to get rid of things that were not adding value to my life and was not afraid to do! I did work for an accountancy company for 2 years but I was never happy. I knew my purpose in life was greater and I felt I was cheating myself and others who could benefit from my journey if I did not take action! So I did! I left the professional job field to focus on my business and it was the best decision. For once I felt a load lifted off me. I was living again.
After years of networking with some of the world top entrepreneurs and people of influence, I know there was no going back. In 2011,I was appointed a young ambassador for the Princes Trust where I was involved in public speaking, debates, polities as well as events where issues affecting young people were discussed. After the ''we own it summit'' in 2013 which brought powerful women from all over the world together. I became a mentee of Mrs Cherie Blair, gaining valuable knowledge and insight into becoming a successful leader. I have always had a social purpose and goal which is to help as many people as possible to achieve their dreams.
