Susanna Garcia
Director in London, United Kingdom
Susanna started analysing media and its messages at an early age, encouraged by the CEO of a pioneering advertising agency – her grandfather.
After a decade of managerial experience in production and strategic communications, she co-founded MIND THE FILM to use her expertise in service to the arts. The studio specializes in documentary story-telling with a penchant for art, technology and music narratives. She is a dedicated and focused producer applying razor-sharp attention to narrative detail, with a delicate aesthetic sensibility.
Susanna is also a restless catalyst of art, tech and music projects, and works as curator and co-director at the Music Hackspace, an arts organisation hosting a programme of talks, workshops and events about music-tech and sonic practices.
Both MIND THE FILM and Music Hackspace are residents at Somerset House Studios, a new workspace in the centre of London promoting work that pushes bold ideas, engages with urgent issues and pioneers new technologies.
Susanna is visiting lecturer at Winchester School of Art (University of Southamton) and the Royal College of Art, where she runs filmmaking workshops with Borja Alexandre.
She received a Distinction at MA level in Art Theory from Chelsea College of Arts, London and a BA (Hons) in Media Studies from Ramon Llull University, Barcelona. She also has studies in Media Design and Creative Writing.
