Susannah Smith

Tampa, Florida

Susannah Smith is a communications professional with expertise in qualitative market research and a passion for wildlife conservation as it applies to human behavior. Her audience research has taken her across Florida to interview exotic pet owners regarding human-wildlife interactions on screen, and to eastern North Carolina to measure sentiment change associated with viewing wildlife programming.

Susannah worked at Busch Gardens Tampa for eight years as media spokesperson, zoo educator, and presentation trainer. She represented Busch Entertainment Corporation on CNN, Good Morning America, CBS’ Early Show, Jack Hanna’s Animal Adventures, and others.

Susannah has a master’s degree in Mass Communications from University of South Florida and a bachelor’s degree in Cultural Anthropology from Tulane University. She was selected as an Emerging Wildlife Conservation Leader in 2005 and served as President on the Board of Directors for The Wildlands Network from 2012-2015. She is President of the Tampa Preparatory Alumni Association, member of the Advisory Council for Film TampaBay, and Community Advisory Board member for USF's Institute for Research in Art. She is a Yoga Alliance certified yoga instructor.
