Susanne Silk

Susanne's career began as a legal administrative assistant and morphed into a business owner and then an educator. Coming from an educational family, Susanne was determined not to follow in her families footsteps! But as fate would have it, Susanne entered the field of education and hasn't looked back.

Susanne has an extensive educational background having worked as a classroom teacher and teacher leader. Susanne received her National Board Certification in Career and Technical Education in 2003, which led to her involvement with National Board for Professional Teaching Standards. This experience opened many opportunities in her professional career. Currently Susanne serves as regional coordinator, trainer, coach, and mentor for national board candidate support and is in her second term on the Board of Directors for National Board for Professional Teaching Standards.

Susanne's accolades include Oklahoma Association of Career and Technical Education (OkACTE) Business Teacher of the Year , OkACTE State Teacher of the Year, ACTE Regional IV Teacher of the Year and finalists for ACTE National Teacher of the Year. Susanne was nominated by the State Director of Career and Technical Education to serve on the Program Accreditation Committee to work with the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education. Susanne serves on the Oklahoma Department of Career and Technical Education Business Division Advisory Committee and is a certified teacher for the Association of Medical Personnel.

Susanne passion is motivating her students to reach their goals in higher education and the workplace. Susanne and her students are active in community projects, Business Professionals of America , and staying up with current trends in technology. She finds fulfillment in her student's successes.
