Susan Older

I launched DisplacedJournalists.com and an accompanying Facebook page in January 2010 in an attempt to provide community, advice and career opportunities to journalists affected by newspaper layoffs and cheap, or free, content on the Internet. The focus of Displaced Journalists is reinvention and career evolution, as well as the ongoing formation of a massive pool of top-notch journalists looking for ways to shop their content at honest and fair prices. I was a founding editor at USA Today, where I spent 10 years in NEWS & LIFE and two as managing editor of The Gannett New Media Group, before leaving in 1994 to become founding editor of Inter@ctive Week, the first news magazine dedicated to covering the emerging Web and interactive technology business. I have been editor-in-chief of United Press International, a Specialist at Apple, and chief content executive at numerous Internet startups.
