Susan Smith Sims Pritts

Coastal North Carolina, US

Born in 1953 in the deep south state of Alabama, I witnessed some of the most painful events in America's history. Thanks to my parents, several wonderful teachers and mentors, I've been writing ever since.

The home I've lived in for 30 years in a historic port city on NC's coast was once owned by Robert Ruark's sister and her husband. Most of my writings are in a closet in the upstairs bedroom where we found an old tuxedo belonging to his nephew- in- law by marriage. They're behind a sleeping bag, twenty year old mint green and grey ski outfits, my daughter's prom dress and a few of my mother's clothes from the '30's and '40's.

When I'm not writing, I'm reading, learning, practicing yoga, and working to make a difference. Regardless of my job title, and I've had many in social work, child and family development, legislative action and implementation, small business entrepreneurship, music, art, dance, non-profit consulting, marketing and managing 22 online city guides. My gift seems to be in 'turnaround', whether it's an individual, situation or business. I'm a keen observer of human nature, a strategic thinker and planner who sees and imagines the best and advocates for others to join that vision. I've found and recently married, my partner in crime and we're going for the best life we can imagine.

My world is full of connections, surprises, synchronicities, disappointments, shifting from chronic illness to chronic wellness, and wonderful people on the journey. I'm writing about it at http://breakfastwithsussi.wordpress.com.
