Susan Stewart
Teacher in Fresno, California
K-2 Can, Too! is the motto of this lead learner. Fourteen years in primary classrooms helped develop a passion for finding ways to get technology into the hands of even the littlest of learners, for the purpose of fostering creativity and enhancing education right from the start. In 2013-2014, this innovative teacher successfully moved to 100% paperless homework in her blended second grade class and also integrated the Google Suite with her 7-8 year olds.
Throughout her career, Susan has served as a site-level and district technology lead, and now holds the position of PK-12 Instructional Technology Coach for Fowler Unified School District. Within her district, Susan has aided in the implementation of a 1:1 program using Chromebooks and the Google Suite. She regularly works with individual and teams of teachers to promote the best practices for using technology in the classroom to enhance instruction, support and supplement content, improve assessment, and engage learners through meaningful creativity.
Susan is an authorized Google Certified Innovator, Google Education Trainer, and a Leading Edge Certified Professional Learning Leader. She holds a Masters Degree in Educational Technology from Pepperdine University. Her studies there focused on engaging adult learners and developing an effective professional learning program. She continues this work as a passion, enthusiastically sharing knowledge with other educators!
In addition to her responsibilities with Fowler Unified, Susan regularly speaks on blended learning and classroom technology in districts throughout the country.
Outside of work, Susan enjoys bicycling and spending time with her family. She loves to cook and entertain!
