Dr. Susan Tuttle

Dr. Susan Tuttle has worked with patients through her private psychology practice in Simi Valley, California, since 1982. Dr. Susan Tuttle provides psychotherapy for up to 75 patients weekly. In her practice, she works with children and adolescents, as well as adults. She employs a number of different techniques, depending on the exact needs of each patient. In addition to varying therapy techniques when working with individuals, families, and couples, she uses play therapy when working with children, as well as cognitive therapy and behavior modification. Dr. Susan Tuttle has treated a wide range of patients struggling with posttraumatic stress disorder, including war veterans and victims of violent crime.

Since opening her practice, Dr. Susan Tuttle has frequently testified as a forensic psychotherapist in court cases. She has also received special training from the Simi Valley Police Department in techniques for conducting proper interviews with victims of suspected child abuse. In addition, she has served as an expert witness in Ventura and Los Angeles County Superior Courts.

Dr. Susan Tuttle received her PhD in Clinical Psychology from International College in Los Angeles and a Master of Education in Counseling Psychology summa cum laude from Boston University, as well as a Master's degree in German linguistics from the University of Heidelberg, Germany. Dedicated to providing a high level of service, she has participated in several continuing education programs, concentrating on courses relating to family dysfunction, abuse, and rape. In addition, Dr. Susan Tuttle has offered a number of presentations and training sessions through Interface Community Counseling. Endeavoring to remain abreast of professional advances, she actively participates in a number of organizations, including the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, and the American Psychological Association.
