Sushil Mohta, Merlin Group

Sushil Mohta is an Indian entrepreneur, real estate developer, and the Founder and Chairman of the Merlin Group. A Commerce graduate of St. Xavier's College, Kolkata, he began his professional journey in his family's ball bearings trading business before transitioning into property development. In 1984, he incorporated Merlin Projects Limited, establishing corporate structure, legal transparency, and professional standards in Kolkata's real estate market. Over four decades of leadership, Mohta built the Merlin Group into a premier real estate conglomerate with a footprint across Kolkata, Pune, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Raipur, and Colombo. His portfolio encompasses over fifty residential complexes, commercial office towers, IT parks, and major retail landmarks, including Acropolis Mall and World Trade Center Kolkata. Under his direction, the group also co-developed the 4-million-square-foot South City township and mall. Beyond commercial success, Mohta is a Founder Member of CREDAI India and President of CREDAI West Bengal, actively driving policy advocacy, urban development reforms, and sustainability standards across the sector.
