I'm Susie Tapley, welcome to my website/blog! I've been interested in health and wellness and the positive influence of nutrition on people's lives for years. It started with my own life. I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease eight years ago and it was a long, arduous road leading up to diagnosis. I was very sick. It took four persistent years to get an accurate diagnosis.
Since being diagnosed I've had a complete life transformation. I was active before. I ran the San Diego Marathon the year after I graduated from college. Exercise was a routine part of my life. But my diet was lacking quite a bit. Now I realize it was toxic, literally making me sick.
Over the years I've made slow, steady changes. They've stuck. I went from being chubby and unhealthy, to finding my healthy weight and confidently being about to balance nutrition, fitness and my busy life.
I've run marathons, done a triathlon, exercised at intense levels, tried every diet - Weight Watchers, South Beach, Atkins, Cleanses, fasting, you name it. Right around 32 I started to settle into my healthiest life. I became a devotee of Baptiste Yoga, I started running for fun and to feel good, not to enter an event or race. I started meditating. I began to investigate where my food comes from and how it gets to my plate. I became interested in local, fresh, whole foods.
Most importantly, I found a peace within myself. I started to tap into my gut when making important life, health, job, and financial decisions. It has paid off in spades. I recently quit my finance job and am dedicating myself to my health coaching practice full time.
This is my continued journey to find health, balance and wellness. I hope you'll join me!
Be well,
Susie
