Susie Vanner is known for her many acting roles, such as when she appeared opposite Roger Moore as a Bond girl in the 1977 movie ‘The Spy Who Loved Me’, in what is now considered one of the most iconic opening sequences to a Bond movie.

Susie’s singing career began in her late teens after she was discovered by the well-loved singer/songwriter Chris Andrews, who was looking for a young singer to record some of his compositions. Alongside Andrews, Susie recorded six songs for RCA . She is remembered for the single ‘Don’t Pity Me’, which is considered a Northern Soul classic. Having become a collectors item, copies of the vinyl 7” single have been known to sell for £1,000.

As well as appearing in ‘The Spy Who Loved Me’, Susie has also acted in TV series including ‘Minder’ (1979) and ‘Tales of the Unexpected’ (1984), and opposite Sylvester Stallone in the film ‘Nighthawks’ (1981).

Susie is passionate about maintaining a healthy lifestyle, particulary as she was diagnosed with aggressive cancer in 2007; she eats healthily, doesn’t drink alcohol, and follows a low sugar diet. She’s also a keen practitioner of yoga. Dance has been an important element of Susie’s life since childhood, and her artistry in this discipline can be seen on her YouTube Channel.
