Suzanne Mallouk

With over a decade of experience in psychiatry and substance abuse treatment, Suzanne Mallouk M.D. provides services and instruction in the field in the New York metropolitan area. Graduating summa cum laude from Hunter College in New York City with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Chemistry, Dr. Suzanne Mallouk matriculated at the St. George’s University School of Medicine on the island of Grenada. Earning a medical degree in 2001, she conducted her medical training at Beth Israel Medical Center, the University Hospital for the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Manhattan. Over a period of four years, Dr. Suzanne Mallouk developed her skills in Internal Medicine and Psychiatry, eventually serving as Senior Resident of the Out-Patient Clinic.

After her training at Beth Israel, Dr. Suzanne Mallouk stayed at the medical center for an additional year as an Assistant Attending Physician. Upon leaving Beth Israel, Dr. Suzanne Mallouk held the role of Service Chief of the Transitional Living Programs of Silver Hill Hospital in New Canaan, Connecticut. Currently, Dr. Suzanne Mallouk serves patients in the Bronx at the Psychiatric Clinic of Bronx Lebanon Hospital Center and runs a private practice in Manhattan, New York, and Westport, Connecticut. Holding the dual roles of a psychiatrist and a psychotherapist, she specializes in substance abuse and general psychiatry and has received training in dialectical behavioral therapy and interpersonal psychodynamic psychotherapy.

Outside of her medical work, Dr. Suzanne Mallouk also instructs medical residents in the field of psychiatry. Currently, she supervises second through fourth year psychiatry residents at Bronx-Lebanon’s Department of Psychiatry and St. Luke's Roosevelt Hospital Center. She is also working on her book, Mindfulness as a Treatment for Attachment Disorders and Repetition Compulsion, a culmination of seven years of research. Licensed to practice medicine in New York and Connecticut, Dr. Suzanne Mallouk holds a Diplomate certification from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and memberships in the American Psychiatric Association and the American Academy of Addiction Psychiatrists.
