Suzy Sturgeon

My full name is Suzanne Rene Sturgeon. I am 25 yrs old and reside on the Chippewa of the Thames reserve. I am from full native ancestry. My bloodline is half Walpole, a quarter Munsee-Deleware and a quarter Chippewa. My Indian name is “Bmibzo mgizi mshkiki binojiinh” which means Flying Eagle Medicine Child and I am from the Otter Clan. I`m about 5`5, a buck-thirty, with brown hair and brown eyes... as u can see in the pic <- <- <- I am a very out-going person, with a good sense of humour and I love to have fun. Some would say that I`m a wierdo, but i say that I just enjoy being goofy and enjoy living my life to the fullest. I love making people smile or laugh because I truly believe that laughter is the best medicine.

I have a large family consisting of my parents (Brian and Delores), 3 sisters (Denise, Amanda and Kristy) and 3 brothers (Brian Jr., Tyson, and Jon). I also have 3 siblings who were foster children. (Trisha, Shannon and Jewell). But the most important member of my family is my beautiful little niece, Tinslee.

I enjoy playing baseball, volleyball and hockey. In my spare time I love photography, reading and drawing. I attend the pow-wow trail every summer. I used to dance and would love to get back into it. I love biking, camping and hiking. I also enjoy cleaning, and cooking.

<3 I am currently in a relationship and completely head over heels in love. I can’t imagine my life without this person and plan on having a baby and getting married sometime in the near future.

My personal goal in life is to become confident and proud of who I am. Whether that`s completing my grade twele and going to college and university, or something simple like, being their for my family or being a nice person. I just want to be able to say that I am proud of the way my life turned out and that I am proud to be me!

That is all i have to say about myself. I would like to add that i choose my backround picture because i am a huge participant of the Idle No More movement. I have been to every single rally, flash mob and protest in my area. I took this picture on November, 1st, 2013 in Ottawa, Ontario when Stephen Harper agreed to meet with the nation`s cheifs. Being their that day and supporting my people is something I am very proud of.
