Suzy Gulliver

With extensive knowledge in the co-occurrence of addiction and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), Suzy B. Gulliver, PhD leads the Warriors Research Institute (WRI, formerly BRAVER Institute) as founder and director. Operating as part of Scott & White Healthcare, WRI has a particular focus on developing medical pathways for conditions such as PTSD, TBI and Gulf War Illness, the latter two for which effective treatment options do not currently exist. Dr. Suzy B. Gulliver’s mission is particularly vital in Texas, which has the nation’s highest per capita percentage of veterans.

Since 2007, Dr. Gulliver has additionally held a position as professor with the Texas A&M Health Science Center’s College of Medicine. A respected researcher in her field, she served as an expert panelist at a 2010 homeless research meeting of the Department of Veterans Affairs. From 2009 to 2012, Dr. Gulliver held a committee assignment with the Central Texas Veterans Health Care System’s VA Dean’s Advisory Board. Suzy B. Gulliver, PhD has a passion for hiking and equestrian activities, and also enjoys downhill skiing in her free time.
