The construction of the Golden Gate Bridge was finished in 1937, after four years, and with a budget of 35 Mio. USD. That was 1,3 Mio. below the planned budget!
Inflation-adjusted, today the bridge would cost approx. 600 Mio., but I am sure, nobody would bet one could really do this job nowadays for the same amount of money and within the same time. But maybe in the not-so-far-future, we would digitalize it, and then going to 3d-print it?!
